The Care-A-Thon is the RMH Foundation's annual phone-a-thon event where we contact our donors and ask them to renew their support for our local hospice program.
Funds raised during Care-A-Thon enables Hospice to provide grief support groups to the bereaved, host memorial events, and provide training for its staff.
The success of this effort depends largely upon whether we have sufficient volunteer support to contact our donors!
The event takes place Monday, September 30 – Friday, October 4, 2024.
You can choose to participate virtually or in person.
Virtually, you have 5 days to complete your calls.
Our in person event is on October 1 from 4-8pm. Dinner is provided and you can get all your calls done at once! Its a great way to feed off the energy of giving from your fellow volunteers and get to know others in our community.
Volunteers have the option of using a free mobile app to conduct their calls, thereby not sharing their personal phone number for security and callback purposes.
The Foundation will hold a brief volunteer training via Zoom on Monday, September 30 at 3:30pm. If you are unable to attend live, we will send the recorded version to your email immediately afterward.
One of the nice things about this event is that we send a letter to donors in advance, so they are already expecting our calls. Even better, everyone we call has made a gift to the hospital in the last few years, so we know they are supportive of our work.
