Melton Scholarships Offered for 2025

When former RMH president Carter Melton, Jr. retired from the hospital at the end of 2007, he and his wife, Connie, established the  Melton Endowment Fund to provide scholarships for the children and grandchildren of Sentara RMH Employees. Now, in its 19th year, the Melton Fund will be awarding two $4,236.50 scholarships.

Applicants must be the children or grandchildren of SRMH employees. Grandchildren, to be eligible, must reside in the SRMH grandparent’s home and be supported by them. Preference will be given to applicants:

·        planning to attend The Virginia Military Institute or Longwood University.

·        pursuing a health career.

·        If no applicants meet the above criteria, the scholarships will then be awarded to the most promising applicant.

You can also pick up a printed copy at the RMH Foundation, located in the first-floor administrative suite; rm #1105 of the main hospital, 2010 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg. Applications must be received by the Foundation office on or before Friday, June 19, 2025.  The winner will be announced by July 11th.
