Over the years, philanthropy has helped deliver radiation therapy at the Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center. Indeed, thousands in our community have benefited from a unique, highly specialized, highly accurate way to target cancer cells. Providing this service locally helps patients and their families avoid time consuming, expensive and arduous travel complications while ensuring that their continuum of care is uninterrupted. Replacing aging equipment is a reality of providing quality care and in terms of longevity, this type of equipment is considered nearing retirement at about twelve years. A new, state-of-the-art linear accelerator will directly impact patients and their families. It will also indirectly help strengthen the oncology program, retain doctors and nurses, and deliver hope to this generation and the next.

The Sentara RMH Funkhouser Women’s Center has been a blessing for many. Indeed, it has been a safe-haven for women.Today, it is nearing capacity.An estimated 10,000 square feet is needed to handle increased traffic, upgrade services and remain a beacon of hope for our community.

New features and benefits of this project potentially include:

• Improved access for high-risk pregnancies.
• Improved access and treatment for urogynecologic/pelvic floor disorder patients.
• Improved access for post-reproductive age women.
• Provide 8 new exam rooms, 2 consultation offices
• Improved access for telehealth and behavioral health services
