“We’re here to take care of you”
Dr. Matthew Cauchi
Brock Field, a 70-year-old Valley resident who lives a very healthy and active lifestyle, found himself in a situation he never imagined. Just after midnight on Labor Day, he suffered a life-threatening heart attack.
When Brock arrived at the Sentara RMH emergency department, he was met with doctors and nurses waiting for his arrival. As he was rushed through the doors, structural cardiologist Dr. Matthew Cauchi laid his land on Brock’s shoulder and said, “We’re here to take care of you,” and all of his fears melted away.
Brock knew he was in good hands. He now understands what it really means to have access to a full range of heart services at the Sentara RMH Heart and Vascular Center. Brock believes he is here today and back to the sports he loves because of the fast work and compassionate care of Dr. Cauchi, the nurses, and all the staff.
We are all blessed that community supporters have helped our local hospital be well-prepared and ready when we need it, especially when a life-threatening heart attack comes out of the blue – as it did for Brock.
If you are grateful and want to give back or want to help Sentara RMH be ready and waiting for you and your loved ones, you can make a tax-deductible gift to the RMH Foundation’s annual campaign to support local heart care here. Every dollar you give will help local patients and families.
