Donor Recognition & Giving Circles

We are tremendously grateful to have the support of community members who help save and improve the lives of our patients through their generous donations. We express this gratitude and recognize the contribution your donations make through the exclusive giving circles outlined below. This is our way to honor our most generous partners who show they care about having the best medical services available to our community.

The 1910 Cornerstone Club

Those community-minded individuals who laid the Hospital’s cornerstone in 1910 set a standard for service and generosity. We are pleased to acknowledge those donors who give $100 – $999 annually by including them in the 1910 Cornerstone Giving Circle. To acknowledge your 1910 Cornerstone support, you will:

  • Receive hospital updates and health tips in the Sentara RMH magazine – a health lifestyle magazine published quarterly by Sentara RMH
  • Stay in-the-know on how to best contact the physician or allied health practitioner you need when you receive Sentara RMH’s Annual Medical Staff Directory
  • Be listed with other generous community members as a member of the “1910 Cornerstone Club” in the Sentara RMH magazine

The William Leake Society

Sentara RMH was founded on philanthropy when Mr. William Leake graciously donated a large portion of his estate to establish a community based, not for profit hospital. Through his gift, Mr. Leake exhibited commitment, compassion and a strong desire to serve others. We are happy to acknowledge donors who exhibit the same qualities by donating $1,000 – $4,999 annually and include them in the William Leake Society. To acknowledge your William Leake support, you will:

  • Receive all the benefits associated with the 1910 Cornerstone Giving Circle
  • Be publicly recognized as a generous donor in the new hospital with other gracious donors
  • Receive an invitation to an annual donor reception honoring you and other community philanthropists
  • Be listed with other gracious donors as a member of the William Leake Society in Sentara RMH magazine

The President’s Forum

Since its founding in 1912, Sentara RMH has been a leader in creating a healthier community for everyone throughout the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. In order to be a leader in providing top-notch healthcare, we have depended on donors who provide leadership support through their generous giving. That is why we recognize those donors who give $5,000 or more annually by including them in the President’s Forum. To acknowledge your President’s Forum support, you will:

  • Receive all the benefits associated with the William Leake Society
  • Have an exclusive opportunity to meet with the hospital President at an annual “President’s Forum” gathering
  • Be listed with a select group of donors as a member of the “President’s Forum” in Sentara RMH magazine

The Founder’s Society

The Founder’s Society is based on the firm belief that Sentara RMH’s future of excellence is tied to the continued support of its friends. We recognize and encourage partnership through this unique society that acknowledges those individuals, corporations and foundations who have given $25,000 or more to the RMH Foundation. Membership is offered for cumulative giving at the following levels:

  • Benefactor $100,000 and above
  • Humanitarian $50,000 – $99,999
  • Patron $25,000 – $49,999

Member benefits include the listing of your name on the Founder’s Society recognition board in the Sentara RMH main lobby, listing in other Sentara RMH publications, and invitations to hospital events.

The Pillar Society

Through the years, Sentara RMH patients have benefited greatly from individuals who have remembered the hospital in their estate plans. The Sentara RMH Pillar Society acknowledges those who, since 1983, have made gifts through will bequests, gift annuities, trust agreements, life insurance, and similar planned gifts. Recognition of Pillar Society members is made regardless of the size of the bequest or gift. As a member you will:

  • Be publicly recognized on the Pillar Society wall in the new hospital;
  • Receive invitations to other special events at the hospital.
